Memorial Day is just around the corner! What foods are associated with the holiday? Well hot dogs, of course! We have found some of the best meaty, crazy-topped dogs around. Here are some of our favorites:
Lake Worth resident Aaron Merullo launched this popular hot dog truck in 2011 with his wife, Stefanie, and they’ve been serving up funky, old school dogs all over the county ever since.
The beef dogs, too, are very New York. The Sabrett franks are served on a toasted, buttered bun (baked in Delray Beach by the Old School Bread Company) and topped with varying amounts of bling.
Check Ps561’s website for their schedule and location.
Dune Dog Cafe
This open-sided, beach-style shack serves some of my favorite hot dogs in the county. Grab a spot at the counter and go for a footlong dog. (I love mine topped with chopped raw onions.)

This Colombian hot dog joint piles on the toppings like you’ve never seen – unless you’ve already indulged in Colombian street food. El Perro Huevon is crowned with no fewer than five hardboiled quail eggs and at least four special sauces, plus crushed chips and other goodies.
La Perrada del Gordo: 2650 S. Military Tr., West Palm Beach; 561-968-6978.

Palm Beach Grill
Palm Beach’s popular bar and grill serves its mighty Silver-Service Kosher Hot Dog with a deviled egg.
