Today is National Clam Chowder Day! It’s perfect timing with the cold wave that’s here to warm up with a creamy bowl! Which restaurant has the yummiest, best chowder in Palm Beach County? We take an excerpt from our 2015 Critic’s Choice pick:

Best Clam Chowder in Palm Beach County: Chowder Heads, Jupiter

This is the chowder that won our hearts and bellies at local green markets. Nothing fancy about this traditional, creamy chowder, but I find it downright addictive.

But don’t assume it must be the creamy white option. Sure, the New England-style chowder is quite good, rich and swimming with clams and potatoes. But the red Manhattan chowder is delicious as well, its broth flavorful and almost meaty.

Chowder Heads: 2123 U.S. 1, Jupiter; 561-203-2903.
